To confirm your safari with Mermar Safaris, we require a deposit of 30%. This deposit allows us to secure accommodations, park permits, and safari logistics on your behalf.The exact deposit amount will be clearly communicated at the time of booking, so you know exactly what to expect.
We accept bank transfers and secure online card payments using Visa or Mastercard. For online payments, we share a secure payment link, and for bank transfers, we provide our official banking details. All payment instructions are shared clearly during the booking process, and we are always available to assist if you need guidance at any step.
The final balance is usually due 45 days before the safari start date, depending on the itinerary and lodge policies. For last-minute bookings, full payment may be required upon confirmation. We communicate payment timelines clearly and work with you to make theprocess as flexible and stress-free as possible.

Yes. Most travelers require a visa to enter Uganda. Visas are typically obtained online through the official Uganda e-visa system before arrival. A yellow fever vaccination is required for entry into Uganda, and proof is required during the online visa application process, it is also requested on arrival. We recommend consulting your healthcare provider or a travel clinic well in advance of your trip for personalized medical advice and other vaccinations you may need.

Our cancellation policy is designed to be clear and transparent, as many safari services are prepaid in advance. Cancellations are charged as follows: 60 days or more before arrival: 10% cancellation fee 59–32 days before arrival: 25% cancellation fee 31–8 days before arrival: 50% cancellation fee7–3 days before arrival: 75% cancellation fee 48 hours or less before arrival: 100% cancellation fee Please note that gorilla and chimpanzee trekking permits are non-refundable, as they are issued and managed by Uganda Wildlife Authority. We always encourage guests to take comprehensive travel insurance to cover unexpected changes, and we are happy to discuss your options if your plans are affected.
